How art you today?

I just wanted to write something very special with this post, since creating these pictures has been a very special experience for me.

I met Pallavi over an email on a very fine day, we chatted over email, we got wavelength checked with each other over emails, I got booked over an email and we planned a looooooooooooot over chains and chains of emails. This process in itself was so exciting, it was like the good old pen pal days, through an email. How destiny plans to make me meet such awesome people from around the globe, just amazes me always!! (Hence the repeat usage of this dialogue which I'v already used in early posts and quite a few facebook updates! )

After meeting Alex and Pallavi the very first day and planning a very special Date in the woods theme photo shoot, this day was the second day of having some fun. A day that had been in my head for almost two years.

We photographers are manipulative and mean heads. We scheme, manipulate, convince, procrastinate and finally shoot you. The art that we dream while zoning out, becomes way too dear to us. And the passion to achieve that art is what leads us  to really manipulate our subjects. We do it quite often but very subtly. Example, I just had to hear the golden words from Pallavi while discussing the themes, she wanted for the pre-wedding. She just wanted something 'purely Indian' to reflect in her pictures, since Alex is a Canadian. A bit of India to give him a sneak peak into the madness yet crazy love India has to offer to the world. And there, I had my window to pitch in this idea, that had been rejected by almost every couple in 2014 and 2015. Hey, what better than colors to represent India. I manipulated, worked a tad bit of my photography charm (Hey, if not many there are a few good (not bombastic) pics i'v been able to click so far) and lots of plllllzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzss that just convinced them to go ahead and get messy, get naughty, look a lil weird, get adventurous and most importantly spend one more day with me. And man!! were my prayers answered.

It was not the normal regular smiley kinda shoot, nor a prepped up suited one. I had no idea about how i'm going to direct the poses. A frown here, a smirk there; a squint here, a color blush there. And lots and lots of honest moments of enjoying the sheer joy of seeing each other in a crazy avataar and just enjoy being kids together. Alex and Pallavi, thank you for getting crazy with me.

I managed to learn a tad bit more to propose and idea to someone. I learnt a hell lot to be 100% honest and passionate to your vision of art, and leave no stone un-turned to make it possible. For sure learnt that clicking is just 20% of the job of a photographer. 80% is the effort, heart and soul one should give in planning a new experience for someone.

So my dear friends, as this Monday draws to an end and you plan to snuggle in your bed reflecting over the day long fight with Monday grumpiness, or if you're still on fighting Monday grumpiness, I ask you all...How art you, today? About me, I'm enjoying some real colors of love and happyness (with a 'y').
